Multi-instrumentalist David Lindley performs music that redefines the word eclectic. Well known as the featured accompanist with Jackson Browne, and leader of his own band El Rayo-X, Lindley has long championed the concept of world music, combining folk, blues, and bluegrass traditions with African, Arabic, Asian, Celtic, and Turkish musical sources. Lindley incorporates an incredible array of stringed instruments including Hawaiian lap steel guitar, Turkish saz and chumbus, Middle Eastern oud, and Irish bouzouki. The eye-poppingly clad "Mr. Dave's" uncanny vocal mimicry and demented sense of humor make his onstage banter a highlight. John Densmore, drummer for The Doors, has been a student of percussion from around the world for many years, and brings his signature Doors rhythm into the mix. Santa Fe's own Hani Naser, who has recorded with Lindley, rounds out the collaboration with a topnotch band that embraces both improvisation and a host of melodic influences from around the globe.
